With a deep-rooted commitment to higher education, J T. has dedicated his career to fostering institutional growth, alumni engagement, and strategic advancement.
Before leading the Foundation, J T. made a lasting impact as the chief executive officer of the Indiana University Alumni Association, where he strengthened the university’s global network, pioneered the application of metrics to alumni engagement, and fostered a culture of commitment to IU among its graduates.
His leadership extends beyond academia, shaped by his tenure in the private sector as director of state government relations for Cummins Inc., and his role as a principal private sector leader for the United States–Brazil CEO Forum—experiences that sharpened his ability to navigate complex partnerships and drive meaningful change.
A seasoned leader in higher education advancement, J T. has held senior roles at Indiana University and Michigan State University, overseeing communications, marketing, public affairs, and government relations. In addition, he also has served as a Trustee of Indiana University, Student Body President for the IU Bloomington campus, and founding President of the Indiana University All Student Assembly (AUSA).
His influence reaches across the advancement field, where he has provided strategic consulting to major public research and land-grant institutions, served as consulting vice president for Grenzebach Glier and Associates, and actively contributed to leading organizations such as the role of Council of Alumni Association Executives (CAAE) President and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Trustee. A CASE Laureate and recipient of its District V Chief Executive Officer Award, he is regarded as a thought leader in the field of educational advancement.
