Women's Philanthropy

Inspiring women to create change

When women unleash their collective power, they transform communities.

Women’s Philanthropy at Indiana University empowers women to connect with IU and one another through strategic philanthropy. We create opportunities for IU students, faculty, and staff to turn bold ideas into lasting impact.

Through meaningful connections, immersive learning experiences, and purposeful giving, we unite a diverse network of women who are passionate about shaping the future.

Together, we fuel progress across IU and create a legacy that benefits generations to come.

A powerful force for good

Whether it’s supporting innovative projects across IU, mentoring the next generation of philanthropic leaders, or cheering on riders at the Women’s Little 500, our work is grounded in the power of community.

Women’s Philanthropy is a group that values all voices, and every voice has the potential to spark change. Our work creates space for women to lead, connect, and give in ways that reflect their values—and shape Indiana University’s future.

To our students, your gift is more than just money: It is upward mobility, a changing trajectory, an opportunity otherwise unavailable to so many. Thank you for believing in our cause and helping our students succeed.

Our grants are the heart of our mission

At the heart of our mission is our grant program—led by the Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council (WPLC) and powered by supporters like you. Each year, this program provides funding for bold, solution-driven initiatives across IU’s campuses. These grants improve the student experience, support faculty research, and strengthen communities both near and far.

WPLC grants have supported opportunities like high-impact internships, community health programs, STEM education for youth, and arts initiatives that connect people across cultures. These are projects that solve real problems, inspire new ideas, and open doors.

You don’t have to be a member of the council to make an impact. When you give to the Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council Fund, you join a growing community of donors helping to shape IU’s future for the benefit of all.

From South Dakota to southeast Asia, communities around the world have benefited from the support of WPLC grants.
